| Here's another trick that's transferred from the on-string world. There are a number of ways you can form a cradle. Here's my favourite way.

Land the yo-yo on the string after the throw and proceed to the next step.
|
|
Pinch both ends of the string with your right thumb and middle finger. |
 
 
 
|
Pinch the string just below the right hand like shown. |
 
 
|
Bring your left hand up and bring the right hand down. |
 
 
|
Insert your left thumb and index finger into the loop of string to start forming the cradle. |
 
 
|
Fold down the triangular cradle. |
 
 
|
Tilt the cradle up and you're done. Remember to give it a few swings to complete "Rock the Baby" off-string. |
